Alarm Clock

Back when I was a PalmOS user alarm clock applications were aplenty. (Big Clock) etc... Anyone know of a good alarm clock for the PPC that will wake you up etc... Free is naturally best..

The best one I've used so far is StopTime. It's freeware.

Also find WakeupTweak. That can help your PDA to "wake up", because apparently WM2k3 SE is bugged to where the device may not wake up long enough to activate your alarm (which would suck).

Still--nothing for PPC works as well as the stock alarm from my old palm m515. Sigh...with all its other features, you'd think that the damn axim x50v would be able to do something as simple as wake you up in the morning.

...and payware sucks!!

Not free but...

I too came from the Palm side, and there I used PocketClock by Megasoft 2000. I have had (the PPC version) it installed since I got my X50. Many, many features and well worth the one-time $15. Good alarm, excellent functionality. Good luck.

only thing i've noticed with spbtime is that it supports VGA - but there are no vga skins for it... i reckon it looks the best but love some of the features of pocket time so am split as well....

I would recommend Wolfclock. You can be woken up with MP3s.
Please look at the other postings on Wolfclock in this forum.

You can download it e.g. from http://www.freewareppc.com/clock/wolfclock.shtml

I found that when setting mp3 alarm, the app will hang
on wake up / pressing play button..
Fortunately, the pda won't be hanged and can continue to use after closing the app.
Do you have the same problem ?

I do not understand why the current installed alarm program will not suffice? I can set up to four diffeent wakup times, with snooze button, and pick various sounds to play with each one. It's not only free, it's already installed!

As mentioned earlier, Wolfclock let you use MP3 as alarm sounds, which the basic alarm program does not.

I don't really like the alarms sounds provided with Window, so that MP3 feature is perfecto for me. The best would be Wolfclock with VGA support, though.

Any music or sound you want can be used as an alarm, as long as it is wav. I have copied windows theme wavs and made my own to use.

Besides, aren't you just trying to wake up, not be entertained?

I use zzzmachine and have used it for two years and love it.

The wake up tweak is totally necessary too. there is a link somewhere on this site.

Wakes me up every morning without a problem. I am a heavy sleeper too. I think the only downside for me has been when I forget to take the mute off the Ax and I oversleep. And this last weekend the Ax battery went dead ecause it was on mute and kept trying to wake me up. Those things are my fault, I just have to make sure before I go to bed I have the mute off and the alarm set correctly.
