Question change file extensions

Hi!
Maybe i missed it somewhere, but i cant find ANY way to rename a file from say download.php to install.cab!
How can i do it on the ppc without needing activesync PC?
I have tried both built-in explorer and Resco file explorer... all they let me do is change the filename, but never the extension!!

Cheers //Maciekish

In Rexco click on File > Options then the Browser tab. Uncheck hide file extensions. I don't think this will do what you want it to do though. download.php is just a webpage extension not a program AFAIK.

If you are lazy and have a misconfigured linux server then some redirected downloads like downloads from webmail systems will always be named download.php or somethink like that and you have to rename them manually!

I meant about the download.php, I have to download files to my PPC's storage card and run them through my computer when I'm at home and would like to avoid your problem.

I'm looking into a bluetooth dongle for the laptop but it will be awhile before I can actually get to a store.

Anyone know of any other options (besides Resco and "divine PC intervention"...) of renaming a file extension (i.e. example.txt -> example.cpp, etc.)?

For those of us w/o Resco...
