Does it exist?

Can you recommend a utility that would let me do the following easily, perhaps directly from the tool bar?

1. Change between portrait to landscape.
2. Monitor the battery level.
3. Adjust the brightness of the screen.

Or is this too good to be true?

Number 2 and 3 can be achieved with Battery Pack Pro. You can assign the Home button to do #1 or an icon can be created on the program bar included with Battery pack pro will do this.

You need a SPB Pocket Plus 2.5 , Wisbar Advance 2 and you are set...

1. As Frenchy said, map the Home Button (or any button for that matter).
2. There's probably 20-30 different apps that can do this and more (I use Magic Button).
3. Not sure about the X50v, but I just press in the toggle and adjust the screen with the D-Pad.

You don't need Wisbar Advance to do this. Pocket Plus yes, but not wisbar.

Hi,

Dinarsoft's HandyLauncher will take care of 1 & 3. You can check the battery level, but not monitor it on the today screen. I use Wisbar Advance 2 for battery and memory monitoring. :approve:

Hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for your reply. So, it seems that the recommended way to do this with the least amount of software is to either install Battery Pro or Pocket Plus, and to remap one of the button to switch between landscape and portrait?

SPB Pocket Plus is a neat program; however, if I'm not mistaken - it must be installed in main memory and it takes up about 1.5MB of space. Just a thought.

You can change between portrait and right-handed landscape with the button applet that is built in to the Axim. I forgot to mention this when I first replied.

i prefer what someone above suggested. I use handymenu to quickly check battery and memory, soft reset, switch themes, and to take plugins off the today screen when i need bluetooth and wireless at the same time. I mapped the record button to switch landscape/portrait.

Why do you need to take plugins off the Today screen when you need bluetooth and wireless simultaneously? Are these plugins incompatible to running bluetooth and wireless simultaneously?

It's a known bug with WM2003se I believe. I get memory errors when I try to have my bluetooth keyboard and wireless connection on at the same time (which is needed for IM'ing, message boards etc). My solution is to temporarily take plugins off the Today screen. Since I'm not looking at 'em while i'm online, it's not a biggie for me. HandyMenu gives me quick access to do this - about 2 taps.

I know there are lots of other threads out there about this, and I think that MS and/or Dell is working on a fix.

I have found Battery Bar to be stable and useful on the X50v, I can't say the same for SPB Pocket plus which caused all sorts of problems, even installed in main ram - I also had problems with Wisbar Advanced. I use a h/w button to rotate the screen also.
