Is there a way to password protect or encript files?

Is there a way to password protect or encript files? I don't want to put password on my Axim, which is an hassle everytime I turn it on, but I want some of my documents to be protected from possible intruders.

Resco File Explorer can do document encryption. It diidn't work with a .avi file though.
