Open up MemMaid, look at the bottom of the screen - tap on the 3rd icon from the left. Go to the top hit the down arrow and select START UP PROGRAMS.

If you have Taptext as running on startup then it will appear in the list. Just make sure Taptext is above WisBarAdv. You can change to order by using the arrows at the bottom.

I hope this make sense. Let me know if it doesn't.

Uh, okay, is your program designed to be used like that?

WA doesn't like any other apps taking control of the top bar and that's why it doesn't work properly with TapText, and as a work around (and actually we designed it this way) you can assign TapText to a custom button in WA (in this case you don't even have to have TapText configured to run with the system, the first time you tap on WA custom button TapText will run)

How do you backup your data, so that it can be saved for later installs?

First, TapText installation program doesn't overwrite your menu settings if you have a previous one.

The menu defination is saved into a file in your "My documents" folder, the file is called TapText.dmd

The backed-up data would be important to avoid reinputting after a hard reset. I thought I'd seen you post the method earlier, but I couldn't find it when browing through the posts.

Backing-up is a good idea :approve: , as you said, it wouldn't be pleasent if you have to reconfigure your menu after a hard reset.

Taptest

Seems like a nice program, but two things disturb me:

1) Couldn't easily find help. Actually, I couldn't find help at all.

2) Wherever it occurs, "attendance" is misspelled. I wouldn't want to invoke a text macro without being sure that it is correct. Now, as a Canadian myself (though long living in the US), I was raised to be hypersensitive about spelling (even though it's different north of the border (showing its local 'colour')), and I certainly wouldn't want to be writing an official report in which my misspellings were generated automatically by my text input system.

So good job with the slickness of the implementation! A few small tweaks are needed for primetime.

Hello Pianoman,

We tried our best to make the interface very easy to use so we don't need a help file. But we got few requests so we'll create one very soon.

Sorry for the typo, the menu was created by one of our beta testers and wasn't carefully reviewed. We'll be more carefull next time :)

Instead of doing that, I've just placed a shortcut in my bottom system tray tab, and left it our of WA2 completely. I still load it on startup and have it ready to go, whenever I need it.
(Using TrayLaunch from PHM's Power Toys. (http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/)

EDIT: OK. Back to the drawing board. I just realized that I can't see my bottom system tray tab when I'm in some applications, and thus, can't get TapText to show itself. I now mapped a hardware button (my voice record button) to do it instead.

DinarSoft
Definitely would be helpful to have a help file. Thanks!

Thanks. I bought it and have been singing its praises on a couple of other sites. As to using with WA2, I just put it on a hardware button. Works great!

This app has made posting on Aximsite while mobile a completely new experience!! I've put my most frequently used "smilies" and font characteristics into TapText and now I can save myself a large number of keystrokes. Great app!!! :approve:

Have you tried mapping a WA button to TapText, maybe the hold option on one of your existing buttons if you don't want to add more bottoms to your bar.
