Very weird...
What happens if you go to www.sto-helit.de at home? Is there an error message or a login?
If it's a login, somewhere along the way there's only HTTP 1.0 (maybe some local "proxy" like an ad blocker or anonymizer, or something your ISP does).
If it's an error message, I'm a bit clueless... Maybe your ISP has a filter software which thinks my page is illegal or X-rated for some reason I don't get...

I just uploaded a new version. I think this one should fix it...

No, I still get the error saying that your site refused the connection. I checked using Internet Explorer and it says that it can't find your site. This happens with all links you posted.

Hmmm....that's strange BW. I use Firefox also, but have no problems opening the site.
BTW...That last build works for me. Thank you sto-helit.de.

Tell me about it. I have to wait until I'm at work to get the newest versions. It used to work so I'm not sure why I'm having problems now.
OT: Did you get my reply to your PM at SBSH.net?

Yes. Thank you. Still waiting for something new to happen(guess I won't hold my breath). For now, I am very pleased with WA2, PB, and my other plug-in's.

I've got no idea what's going wrong with the access to my site. Up 'til now, blazingwolf is the only one I know...
I think V2.0 is close to release now.
If nothing goes wrong, I want to do the release the upcoming weekend. I think april fools day isn't a good date... ;)
I fixed some problems with Today backgrounds ("Use Today theme" in Display settings) and icons.
In particular, the icons for PocketWord/-Excel documents, Internet Favorites, and similar using WM2003 SE should work fine by now. Also, in VGA mode without "real VGA", most 32x32 should be stretched to 64x64 if there's no fitting VGA icon. Due to the limitations of the system, I can't guarantee that for every application, and the icon background is only "QVGA resolution" (see FAQ for more details)...
There are also some nice new skins available.

Well, let's see if there's a chance...
First of all, you should try a tracrt. Open the command prompt, and enter "tracert sto-helit.de". With this, you can see which way the data goes. If there's no line with sto-helit.de, it's certainly something on your ISP or the route it tries to use (e.g. backbone troubles). Ususally, the host name where the data stops is a good pointer to the reason...
I think your provider might have banned the IP of my server. It's a virtual host, i.e. some illegal domain might have (had?) the same.
Another step could be to tell me your IP (or at least the first three numbers). Maybe my provider put up some IP range block due to a DOS attack from your IP range.
To get it, open a command prompt and enter "ipconfig /all". There's a whole bunch of other information, but I think IP address should be enough.

I did the tracert. It looks like it makes it to Germany and then times out. The last site it shows is ge-bb-dea1.netcologne.de. There is an IP address after this site but no name mentioned. It starts with a 195. Then all requests time out. The timeout happens on the 16th hop(not that that matters). On hop 12 it hits netcologne.de and it also has an address that starts with 195.
My Ip address starts with a 192.
Thanks for the help. :)

I added a new feature: If you're using WM2003 SE, you can choose the screen orientation for an application.
There's a new option "Orientation" in the menu editor, right below the "Select Application / Action" button.
For example, now you can start the Internet Explorer in landscape mode.
Oh, and I sped up the reading of icons. Among others, only the currently visible icons are read, so you don't have to wait forever when showing a menu or directory with many pages...

Mort, that is an amazingly cool feature (screen orientation for an application) you have just added!
Is this software going to remain freeware or is the final release going to be shareware?
I don't want to go giving you strange ideas ( ) but I have given up using iLauncher (paid for) and now use your app!

Well, a user told me he tried a somewhat similar tool which had this feature (HandyLauncher). It was only about an hour of work, so I just added it...

It will remain "Donationware". I.e., you can get it for free, and if you want to, my Paypal graciously will accept any donation... :)
This has some advantages:
- It's a really fair trade. Everybody can give (or not) what (s)he can afford and thinks the program's worth. Thus, no students are leeched or criminalized.
- It makes it easier with taxes and stuff. Receiving small gifts is no problem, while doing something that at least seems like commerce (even if the income is so low there would be no taxes) can lead to a lot of paperwork and probably more costs than I could cover with the income.
- No excessive expectations. I'm just a single guy, so I can't ensure support or offer any warranty if something goes wrong.

I tried MortButtons (the latest beta off developer site) and I like it but there's one thing that bugs me - when program starts, it waits for a while until it fetches all icons, in the meantime it doesn't react to button presses. Is this just the way it works, or can I somehow set it to react to taps without waiting for icons to be displayed ?
Thanks !
