Question

I have downloaded E Sword and installed on my Axim X5. I installed a Greek and Korean version of the Bible also. I can read the English and Greek version but the Korean version is shows up as blank squares with no text. Does anyone know what the problem can be?

Olive Tree does have the Catholic New American Bible (NAB) along with many other versions.

You need to find a Greek font and put that in the fonts folder. It needs to be True Type. You might find that
here, but I can't verify that.

Hi. I use Olive Tree, and E-Sword. I like 'em both. When I gotta do some searching I use Olive Tree. (Probably because I havn't played with E-Sword enough to get comfortable with it.) E-Sword for just reading and comparing Bibles and such. Just my $.02.

I've a;; three, E-sword, Laridian, Olive tree. They all run well on my X50v. I paid quite a lot when I was using Laridian. Then came E-sword -- free. As I load them in the SD card, there is a short but bearable delay. After loading, they are all about the same in terms of speed. E-sword had became the default program in usage, except for the Chinese bible. I use the olive tree reader for the Chinese bible. It wraps the words for easy reading and is free (the reader and the Chinese bible are free).

e-Sword

I like e-Sword which is free and very feature-rich with many possibilities of the bible versions, commentary, dictionary, note writing, highlighting. I've also used the search function very easily.

It loads slowly initially but running it is fine and it's pretty big files, but with a big SD card that's also no problem.

I did ask the creator for a new version of bible at one time and he was very responsive.

While NIV is certainly very popular, ESV works just fine too.

One possible reason for a blank is that the previous bible used was set to an Old Testament verse. When you switch to a bible that doesn't cover the current verse then you can get a blank screen.

I've used all three and I have settled on e-Sword. I like the number of translations Rick has as well as the commentaries and dictionaries that are available.

I also use e-Sword on my desktop PC for lots of stuff. My primary desktop version is Logos and I have several hundred dollars tied up in it but unfortunately no PPC version.

Help with eSword

HELP........I have the x51v with a 4gb hitachi microdrive and I'm unable to get any of the add-ons that is available with esword to load.

The esword site indicates that we should load the main program to the device (which I did), but any add-ons can be loaded to the memory card (which I'm trying to do).

Can anyone help me figure out what I'm doing wrong. My first x51v (I had to return it because I had to reset it just to get it to turn on) had a 512 SD card and the add-ons with esword loaded perfectly to it, so what in the world could be the problem with this lovely Axim????

I've used OliveTree on 3 different PDAs--a Handspring Visor and two different Dell Axims and it works very well.

Super Program worth hundreds!

I have Pocket e-Sword on my X51v and a brother has it on his X50v. It works great on both! :approve:
Install the main program on the device then, all the add on applications on your storage card and you won't have any problems.
I literally have everything available in english!
It's fantastic!

By the way, the correct URL is: http://www.e-sword.net/pocketpc/index.html :rolling:
