I know that there are programs to help find hot spots, but are there any that will automatically adjust the Axim's settings to aid in connecting?

I am not sure what settings you are trying to adjust. Or have a program adjust. When I turn on wi-fi and a network is aviable, I just select it, choose work and click connect. Nothing else to do but surf.
