Everytime I place my Axim back in its USB cradle, ActiveSynch thinks I'm a guest. The only way I can get outlook to synch is by deleting the original partnership and creating a new one. That works great until I remove it from its cradle again. I must be missing something obvious here folks! Any suggestions?

I have the EXACT same problem that you do...I have no solution as of yet. I thought that by upgrading to MS ActiveSynch 3.7.1 (Build 3244) that it would solve my problem...Microsoft said that it helps the "Guest User" issue, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I too, have to delete my partnership EVERYTIME I plug into the cradle or USB connection.

Someone out there--please help!

Is there another Software Package other than Active Sync?

I occassionally have that problem, though not always.

But...I would like to link to 3 computers, the home, the work, and now the laptop.

Any suggestions?

IntelliSynch works fairly well, and gives you more options other than Outlook (ie LotusNotes, Groupwise, ACT, etc...)

Switching the axim off and on seems to do the trick for me. ActiveSync is less than robust!

Are any of you using PocketHosts to add the IP address of your desktop partner to the Axim? If so, try deleting the host name from the table to see if that works better.

maybe put you axim in the cradle when your system is complete booted. I had this problem when my system is booted and my axim was in the cradle I was only guest put it out the cradle and back in problem solved

uff ... I had the same problem and finally i fixed it:
- backup whatever required
- uninstall ActiveSync
- hard reset the axim
- reinstall ActiveSync
- restart from the beginning
ps: use this opportunity to update the ROM (download from support.dell.com)

The reason why your pc is seeing you as guest is most likely because you had changed your pocketpc name.

If so, reinstall activesync and hard reset pocket pc

then try all over again. Note if you are syncing from two computers, reinstall activesync on both
