Managing Installs and Folders - What Utility is best?

I have reloaded my Axim a few times and was wondering what is the best utility to use to manage the install paths? It seems like my file system always gets thrown off and hairy after I install a bunch of files.

File paths thrown off, some installed on storage card and then updates aren't installed correctly, etc.

If I remember correctly one once recommended Resco Explorer??? Is this what is used?

I basically want something to help categorize and manage installs so paths don't get choppy.

sorry don't have all the details handy, but what you may want is cabinstall - lets you directly install the cabfiles in your choice of folders, without relying on activesync and exes.

my new wireless kb is acting up, else i'd do an advanced search for cabinstall in the forums

regards,

THAT IS IT!!! I remembered the name from way back but couldn't totally remember how it worked.

Do you personally use that? I am sure you probably do. Also, is that a free install or is there a paid version that is better? Any tips will be great. Thanks again

OK, here is Wooch's "Puttin' on the brakes" method: "Start the .exe installer, then when it asks where you want to install it (Main Mem, BIS, or Storage Card), hit cancel. Then, navigate to folder where it extracted the files (this is usually displayed at the very beginning of the install), and you will find the cab file." (Thanks Wooch!)

and Gigi's most excellent tutorial: Installing, Running and Uninstalling Software (Thanks Gigi!) :approve:
