Favorite RSS Reader?

I've tried Pocket RSS, Mobile News, and Egress. I've seen NewsBreak and it looks interesting, too. I also know there are some more free ones that don't have a today screen plug-in.

Just wondering which ones people like and use?

I like Pocket RSS, but when it's not on my today screen, it looks fuzzy and unclear. (i.e., when I open it as a stand-alone app.) I think Egress looks much cleaner, but seems a little less flexibile in configuring.

RSS Aggregators

Newsbreak works great for me.

However I really like BlogLines since I can access my feeds anywhere I can get a web browser (PC or PPC).

I tried Pocket RSS, Egress, and Newsbreak. I removed Pocket RSS because it downloaded very slow. My understanding from the author is that this happens because of the way the database is managed - anyway I abandoned Pocket RSS.

I then compared Egress and Newsbreak. I liked them both for various reasons. However, to be honest - Ilium Soft had a special where I could get Newsbreak & EWallet Pro for 40% of (which came to ~$26). Since I was planning on buying Ewallet, I couldn't pass the deal up. So, that is how I actually chose Newsbreak.

I think you would be happy with either Newsbreak or Egress. :approve:

I chose PocketRSS due to its integration with Pocket Breeze.

Bump.

I really like the stand-alone app of Egress versus PocketRSS, but Pocket RSS seems to have a much more customizable today screen plugin. (i.e., I want more of the post than just the time and title.)

Any thoughts!

That's what you say when you just want to "bump the thread to the top of the active thread lists."

Just keeps it from getting lost under the pile of other threads and new posts.

Your question basically accomplished the same thing, so thanks! :)

P.S. By the way, I didn't figure this out until about post 900, myself.

Thumbs up for Newsbreak. I like the ability to automatically check for updates the minute a network is detected. So whenever I sync via Wifi Newsbreak is updating at the same time. Ilium also making Aximsite one of the softwares standard RSS feeds is also a help. The downloads are reasonably fast. You can also search the channels for keywords and also export as well.

I use Pluck on my laptop and like it, I haven't tried on my PPC yet bec ause I don't want to have to sync read and unread files between them. Pluck does have a web version and I'm gonna have to see if that works, but it won't be an offline reader that way....

I use Skweezer. The best part about Skweezer is that when you read your RSS news item and want to read the rest of the story, Skweezer takes you to a PDA-sized page instead of to a full size PC-sized website.

I use a very simple one, that has the great benefit (for me) to sync your feeds within ActiveSync each time you plug your device.

RSS Sync

If anyone's interested, just bought Newsbreak with a $7.00 off Ilium discount. Here's the link to the discount on any Ilium product via the page's link.
