this browser looks promising, though it is (as said) not that good in rendering. :)

I made some screenshot on my vga device to share with you guys

first the main page:

- With the hiresaware hack on:



- And in realvga:



I noticed that the optimall way to view pages is in realvga mode.
For instance of you look at the Mozilla site:

Without the hiresaware hack it is nothing different from a Qvga device:



With the hiresaware hack turned on, the text is smoother but the sitegets unordered. also it does not provide more information on the screen than a QVGA device:




Realvga seems to be the best way to view the pages(though still far from useable IMO):



Landscape seems to be a bit buggy. It does go to landscape on the fly but it wil not fill the extra space:



This is solved by restarting the application while still being in landscape:

Just when I'm thinking I'm on top of these cool utilities come news of two I've not heard of. Hiresaware hack and Realvga . Are these for the x50v? I've only been using OzVGA or SE_vga.
Good luck on the new browser. I'm gonna keep an eye on it (maybe even test it a little if time permits)

Realvga is actually accomplisched with SE_vga. sorry for the confussion :)

Hireaware hack is a adjustment into the EXE file of an application. This little modification will give some application that were designed for QVGA(results in pixeldoubling) the ability to display in VGA. I use Tweaks2k2.NET to perform the Hiresaware hack. There are some other (free) ways to it but then you will need a desktop computer.

Does anyone know how could I ,as a designer , contribute to the progect. I'm no programmer , but maybe on the design side... I just realized that if I want this progect to become 1.0 I should do something about it....

I have i suggestion for one-handed operation.

Within Minimo, a button (let's say the inbox shortcut key), is reassigned to bringing up a row of letters, numbers and punctuation at the bottom of the screen, which you would scroll through by pressing left and right on the directional pad. The center button would select a letter. When the Inbox shortcut is pressed again, the row of letters disappers, so the left and right directions on the pad now perform backward and forward. Up and down don't scroll, they jump between links and text input boxes, and the center button is used to click a link or start typing in an input box.

i got an Axim X50v (VGA)

Minimo doesnt work for me (keeps loading but doesnt start)... i guess i need more free ram.

i only have a total of 19mb free ram, i installed a lot of applications - a total of 400 mb (installed to BIS and SD Card)

but unfortunatelly most apps copy crap into /windows dir.....

what can i do? i would like to use the mini firefox too.

netfront or pocketIE havent been updated for ages!

UPDATE: i disabled all today plugins, this fixed the problem.
i am not sure though it was related to memory usage. i use Worldmate Pro, spd pocket plus and pocketRSS for my today screen.

19MB is a bit small. 400MB installations are just too much I think.
it's good for you to clean up some unused apps to free up mem.

It's a today plugin limitation. I can get minimo to work as long as I don't use more then 2 today plugin.

Blazingwolf, thanks for the info. Can you tell me what software you are using that is causing this? The more we can narrow it down the more chances it can be reviewed and fixed before the next release.

What's the difference between MinimoCE_0.004.zip and MinimoCE_emulator_0.004.zip?

I've been following Minimo's development since 0.002 and it's amazing how quickly has developed. I noticed I can now log into vBulletin based forums which I could not do using 0.003.

.004 is meant for a PDA while the other version you asked about is meant for users who are emulatining CE for testing purposes (ie, me because I dont have a PDA right now since the x3i died). More info about emulating CE can be found here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/mini..._emulator.html

Please note, at least one part needed to emulate CE is not free.

Otherwise, please use .004 on any pocket pc.

Doesn't matter which programs I am using on the today screen. If I go over 2 it doesn't work.

Just so you know though I am using Pocket Breeze with Contact breeze,PocketRSS and Weather Panel as tabs. Then Pocket Plus and iLauncher. If I have just Pocket breeze showing on the screen it will still not work due to the other today plugins being used inside of Pocket Breeze.
