Alternative Synching Software

Is there anything decent out there I can use to replace, or in conjunction with Activesync? I'd like some sort of contact/calendar management app. Does anything exist that can also be opened on a PC Desktop (sort of like Palm OS sync)? I don't use outlook, nor do I want to, which is why I'm asking this question...

thnx in advance

nope.
Google would find me nothing.
:(
yeah yeah, blame the user. i know.

but this would benefit me as well, cause i havent used outlook in YEARS. ive been a beta user for Mozilla Thunderbird.

but even so, a desktop app that would sync with my PDA would work well.

Why not just use Outlook as a contacts/ calendar application there is no requirement that says that you HAVE to use Outlook as your mail client.

That way it just acts as the programme that stores you contacts/ appointments and lets you edit them in your PC

I have thought of that, and it is a last resort. I really don't like Outlook, so I was hoping to find an alternative solution.

Would Intellisync <http://www.intellisync.com/> do what you want? It's supposed to be good for both PPCs and Palms and can hook with ACT!, Lotus Notes, etc.. (Actually that suggests you might be able to sync a PPC with the Palm desktop component... and I actually like it better than Outlook... cleaner to use) It is expensive however.

I would also like to find a program to do this. The issue I've got at the moment is that I'm using my work-provided laptop to do all of my ActiveSynching. We, however use GroupWise (currently 5.5) at work and Outlook and GW will NOT coexist on the same PC without Outlook screwing up the address book in GroupWise.

I'd rather use Outlook and would love nothing more than to use it as just a contact manager and stick with GW for the email client but like I said, it's not likely to happen.

I've got access to a copy of Intellisync but I'm not looking forward to using it. It's not proven itself to be all that stable of a program...

IntelliSync and PortaMail(Their Web Site) are the only apps I found that work with GW 5.5 and PortaMail was head and shoulders better than IntelliSync
