Worried Text Maker 2002 hijacked my Pc docs!

Hi all.

I installed Textmaker 2002 and now my PC just opens docs automatically in Textmaker instead of word 2003 (which I prefer).

Does anyone know how to change that situation?

thanks!

Sounds like your file associations were changed on your PC from WORD to TM during installation. There is a pop-up box during installation that asks you if you want to do this for 1) your PC and 2) your PPC. It's easy to miss the PC part. Go to the control panel and folder options and you should be able to re-associate WORD to those .doc files.

The Textmaker company also has a little application you can run that will convert your textmaker documents back to word format - if you decide not to buy Textmaker. You need to email them to explain you need this. I have found Textmaker is way better than PocketWord, but it runs a bit slower if from a memory card or built in rom.

It's pretty subtle, actually. I know from experience; the first time I installed TM, I ended up with the same file association problem!
