Question Calendar sync problem, times are off

Dear Greater I.T. Intellect,

I am having a problem w/ a dell axim x5 handheld. It seems that every since daylight savings time, all the calendar items in the handheld (after daylight savings time) have been shifted up an hour.

The user has corrected all the times in the handheld. However, upon next sync, the times are shift up again.

I fear that if I delete the partnership and re-establish, the incorrect dates in my handheld will over write all my outlook calendar appts (which are at the correct times).

Client and handheld both read the same (correct) date and time under time/regional settings.

Client: windows xp pro. outlook xp.

Help please?!

Are all the machines in the correct time zone? Activesync uses GMT to sync times, then lets the individual machines change it to whatever timezone they are set to use. If one of the machines is in the wrong timezone it will throw the appointments off.

thanks for the reply

yes, both machines are in the same time zone. I read elsewhere, that the winxp must have the 'auto adjust for daylight savings time' checked, for this to work correctly.

I checked the daylight savings time box, but this did not resolve the error. I didn't reboot the client after setting it to adjust for daylight savings time, though...

thanks again,

I have this problem too. For me, the problem was caused by transferring my calendar from Palm through Yahoo to Outlook. It was Yahoo that screwed up. Others have had it happen to them for different reasons. The next revision of the Calendar MUST have a "shift all appointents back/forward one hour" feature, but I have no idea who to contact to explain to them that we need this added.
