Has anyone installed the ROM update from Dell and having dtroubles with Microsoft Activesync. I'm currently using v 3.6 and have uninstalled and resintalled it just to be sure. But it seems that I can synchronize with the IR port but not with the USB cradle that came with it. I'm not sure if this is an issue that anyone is aware of or if Microsoft should be made aware of.

I am having the same problem, except with Activesync 3.5. I have looked around at some threads, but I can't seem to find any definate answer of how to fix this. It will stay connected under a guest partnership, but when I try to set up a partnership, it won't work. The Axim will connect, but when it says looking for changes, it will disconnect and say sync error, but give no details.

Well that was may next thing was to install v3.5 instead, so I guess that rules that out as well. I'm going to e-mail Dell's Tech support and I'll post whatever they reply

I had the same problem. This is how I solved it.

1) Backed up everything up to a SD card.
2) remove the card.
3) Do the update as instructed.
4) Sync before restoring. You have to select your partnership again. Sync ONLY outlook data.
5) restore your backup
6) sync again - you can select anything you want.

Everything should work
