Blurry pdf files - Help
I have been trying to use adobe acrobat to read journal articles that are in pdf format, but they are not as clear as I would have expected. The edges of the characters are very fuzzy, not sharp. This makes reading much more of a strain. I have zoomed in to enlarge the font and this helps, but why is the font so fuzzy on my x50v?? Anybody have the same problem or a solution? I haven't tried OzVGA yet but I really don't want to have to soft reset everytime I read an article. Thanks

Do a search on OZVGA and True VGA. When you run run your X50V in true VGA mode the results are stunning

Yeah, I've heard that, but then I have to soft reset everytime I want to switch back since I don't plan on staying in true VGA mode very much ( 40+ year old eyes can't do that small print for very long). I was hoping there was another solution.

You can get Tweaks2k2.NET and set it up to force Acrobat to launch in high-resolution, or get this Force High Resolution program ( http://www.pocketpcfreewares.com/en/index.php?soft=1296).

You can use the VGA BruteForce of tweaks2K.
You don't have to do a soft reset and it works well.

As an alternative you can unzip the attached file and place it in the
/Acrobat Reader for Pocket PC 2.0/Adobe/Acrobat 2.0/Reader Folder
(this should be the folder with the .exe file)
With this it only affects the one program , you don't have to worry about switching back and forth from sevga to true vga. This can be repeated for other programs that you may want to try in real vga, you just have to change the name of the .mui file to match the .exe. Some programs are already vga aware and won't be affected.

That was a great suggestion. I unzipped and installed the file as you suggested and my pdf files all look sharp now. Very simple and effective solution. Thanks for alll the suggestions everyone.

WOW, Thanks for the file. I could not stand it if everything was this small all the time. But sure does a nice job on the Adobe files. Thanks again~

I started using the Adobe Reader 2.0 hack from Tweaks2K2 and it does a nice job of cleaning up the text problems. :approve: But, it seems to introduce a couple of problems of it's own. :rolling:
First, it makes the icons on the bottom of the reader and in the Customize Toolbar menu so small that I can barely make them out, which in turn makes them very difficult to select with the sytlus.
The other thing is that I can no longer bring up the split screen that shows bookmarks and such. This prevents me from easily jumping around the document which is a real pain if it happens to be a farily large one.
Has anyone else run into these problems or know of a fix?

I usually use OzVGA but have just tested the file from zerograviti and it works great :approve:
To get the Aricles/Bookmarks/Pages vab visible.. you have to drag the arrow down from the top centre of the page. Then it works fine

Glad this is useful. I can't remember where I originally found the tweak as it was a while ago.
I also use it for vnc and pocket streets. It makes both of these applications much more usable, particularly vnc.
