If you really think you need to defrag your flash cards, you could always use a cheap card reader and plug it in with your desktop pc. If you have Windows, you can even use one of the available defrag tools to defrag your flash card - 100% more reliable than using Pocket Mechanic or any other Pocket PC-based tool. This said, I never understood the reason behind Pocket Mechanic.

I defragmented and it froze on this one file and it deleted all of my files..

geeze i wish i had known/read about this thread earlier!

i recently downloaded the new pocket mechanic v1.57 to test. and every time, it keeps hard resetting my ppc!

orginally i thought it was something i did with all the changes i made to ppc for home, the BT client, and scroll bars .. but even when i installed the program immediately after a hard reset, it would just hard reset my device.

i don't know how you guys got it to work but no matter what i do, it won't work for me. where can i find v1.49 that you have mentioned?

I had the same problem, just so you know it isn't just you. PC Counselor recommended a freeware storage utility. I figured if he recommended it... No more for me, either.
