Hello,

The media player on my Axim does not run. When I click on its icon in the start menu, or run player.exe from File Explorer, all that happens is that I see "WMP 7.5 for Pocket PC" displayed in the program bar at the top of the screen for a second at the most, and then nothing happens. I return to today screen or to the program that was previously running.

I recently upgraded my Axim to the new ROM, and I have noticed this problem since then. However, I had the Axim for less than a week, and never tried running media player before upgrading the ROM, so I am not sure if something went wrong in the upgrade or if the problem was there before.

Any ideas?

Current (all) axims run WMP 8.5, not 7.5 .

It's very strange, as it would seem to be impossible for one unit out of thousands to be different. I did the ROM upgrade, and my WMP is definitely ver 8.5. As far as I know, this program is part of the ROM package ... ie, pre-installed software.

Some unsuspecting users have checked for software updates, and tried to install the "latest" version from the MS site, only to find it's a step backwards, and prevents WMP from running.

I'm having the exactl same problem. Anyone know of a fix??
