Question Password-protected sign-in

1) In my cheapo Palm Zire 21 there is a very convenient built-in feature that allows you to password-protect your device — if someone else tries to sign-in to your device without your preset password, tough luck!
What about PPC? are there any good apps like that?

2) Another nice little app that I miss is the simple Keylock feature.
Right now, if I accidentally click the button and turn on the device — I'll have to wait 3 minutes for it to turn itself back off. So is there a tiny freeware that when you turn on your device — you then must also press this button with say 5 seconds, otherwise it will immediately turn off?

There is a built-in password feature already. Go to Start - Settings - Personal (tab) - Password.

You can also lock your buttons so that pressing them accidentally will not turn on your device. Go to Start - Settings - System (tab) - Power - Power On. Uncheck "Turn on device from suspend mode If a program button is pressed".

Thanks Gigi! But are there any third-party solutions? Because I tried the two things and it actually didn't make any difference!
When I set the pass and then turned my Axim off and back on — it still showed my Today screen and allowed me to run programs! What's up with that?!
And then also when I unchecked the thing in Power settings, and then turned off my Axim and turned it back on to check if it's gonna make me press a button, it never did anything — just continued being turned on as before!..

Did you set the timer? Set it for 0 minutes and it will prompt you every time you turn it on.

Where is that (step-by-step)?
And what about the other one?
Still, I'd like to try some third-party solutions, this doesn't seem to work as I need it to!

Question

I really don't get it.. why are these two indispensable programs so hard to find for Pocket PC?! I mean isn't it really useful to be able to password-protect your device so that if someone finds it they couldn't even see the Today screen?? PC has a whole bunch of proggies like that by different authors, even Palm does!
I'm gonna have to learn coding for PPC and write my own already!

Do a search for "password manager" here and on Google for some programs. I do not use them so I cannot recommend any to you. I'm still not sure why the built-in password utilty doesn't work for you though.

No no, "password manager" would be a program to keep a list of my passwords! I already have thaat.
Where as what I'm trying to do is to password-protect the logon process — so that when I turn on my device, a black screen (or any previously preset wallpaper background of your liking) appears with a password prompt — enter the correct pass or it turns the device back off! As simple as that!
