If you want to keep PIE, then Spb Pocket Plus allows you to have multiple windows when working with PIE, though they are not tabbed at the bottom of the screen, but in the form of an extra menu.

Don't Panic!

MultiIE or PIEPlus are shareware PIE Enhancers of the two I prefer MultiIE, it just seems to do more.

ftxpbrowser is cool for the tabs though and you just can't beat the price. ;)
