Universal Remote Proggie

I used to have an IPAQ 3950 and it had Nevo Remote. This was the best remote app I have seen. There is nothing that i have found that even comes close.

I find that Vito blows... Can Nevo be used on PDAs other than IPAQS?

Welcome, CPrince. I remember using an old palm as a remote, but it sucked b/c the IR wasn't strong enough so I had to sit real close to the TV. Have the IR's gotten stronger? How was your experience?

There are several... including total remote and other ones I dont remember the name of.

The range on the X50 and I think x30 series should be much better than before... Needs a lot of aiming, but the signal gets there...

You are right! They used to suck and blow at the same time! The X30 gets about 15 to 20 feet... I don't know about the X50. I use remotes for work (I am a videoconferencing and educational technician at a University) and I have found it (Nevo anyway) extremely useful. The learn function was my friend!!

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try total remote.

If any one has any suggestions... fire away! (Just don't say Vito!)

I have an X5 that is a dedicated Color Universal Remote for my Home Theater.
Moved up from a B&W Pronto TSU1000, used the same CCF and
just upgraded the graphics in ProntoEdit 4. :approve:

With my X50v, Remote Control II works at greater distances than Griffin Total Remote.

Is there a decent, free universal remote that will work on the x50v?

MrK, what an interesting use for a pda! I also had a TSU1000 for many years and moved to an MX-3000. Never thought about using a pda just for that.

If that software is "remotely" like the ProntoEdit (which is pretty clunky as far as universal remote software, but good as far as PPC remote software), then it is worth a try.

Total Remote is perfect! It also takes CCF config files for additional devices and skins!! You can go here:

remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/files/rcfiles.cgi?area=pronto

for all the files you need for this killer remote proggie!

I still think they're unethical but I can now confirm that the Griffin Total Remote IR Module works very well with the X50v.
