Can anyone offer advice as to how to use my Axim as a recorder. When I select record on Word or Notes the recording goes fine until "sleep" mode kicks in, then the recording stops and the system powers down.

Is there a way to record and still allow the screen to go off (saving some of the battery?)

You might be able to accomplish this by running the built-in windows media player on your PPC, going to Tools>Settings>Buttons>Select Function "Screen Toggle", and then press the button on your Axim that you want to use to turn off the screen. To turn the screen back on just press the power button. After doing this, you should be able to turn the screen off at any time by simply opening Windows Media Player for PPC, and pressing the hardware button you selected. Hope it helps.

I believe it's freeware and allows recording to SD or CF and has a disable powerdown option.
