Thanks :) Event though I have Advanced Explorer, I use Total Commander almost exclusively, and best of all it's free :approve:
I'll have to check out the new version.

What does the new version do that the old one doesn't? It doesn't seem worth the switch to me, but I would like to see other opinions.

From their website:
Support for portrait/landscape switching
Save column widths in full view
FTP client, registry editor, and access to LAN (local area network)
And, there's no cost, so it's "worth" the switch:)

It's my favourite manager, so every new feature is welcomed and those above are really useful to me. I already made an upgrade :).

I also have Resco Explorer, but Total Commander is my primary file manager/etc. on the desktop and my Axim. I can't wait to get home and install 2.0. Thank you for the news!

I have downloaded tcmdpocketarm.exe several times, but when I try to run it all that happens it that my desktop make a sort of chirruping noise for a few seconds but the .exe file does not run.
Has anyone else had this problem ? If so, any ideas for a solution ?

Will it now let you "select all"? That's the only thing I didn't like about it.

Is this product comparable to Resco File Explorer? Just wanted to know if anyone has both and which they like better and why?

I have the same question as aximfanatic. I've only used Resco File Explorer and I haven't tried Total Commander yet. All things being equal, meaning forgetting that Total Commander is free, is there any advantage to using it over Resco File Explorer?

Their functionality is similar. I have both, but prefer Total Commander's horizontal split vs. Resco's vertical. On a small screen, virtually no name fits in half the screen horizontally, making it difficult to differentiate between files with similar name starts. Total Commander can show the whole name plus the date nicely. Both can drag and drop files, but Total Commander does it more naturally.
Resco can search the registry more formally by key, values, and data fields and case sensitivity. Total Commander can search the registry, but uses a file motif in doing so. A small difference, but a difference nonetheless.
I use Total Commander for most things, but also use Resco, mainly for registry editing and making shortcuts. Both are high quality programs.

Thanks for the answer Tanker Bob. I guess I'll have to install Total Commander and see for myself. If it's as good as Resco File Explorer, you can't beat the price of FREE!
By the way, you can set Resco File Explorer to have a horizontal split window. Go to File > Options > Browser tab, and remove the check beside "Use vertical windows splitter", and click OK.

One other thing that I don't think alot of people realize about Resco is that under view if you select show header you can adjust the column width of the display. Doing this you can stretch out the Name display long enough to view any length file name. I suspect that most people check this option once, see that it takes up some extra space and then uncheck it.
