This is an exe file for fixing the alarm bug on my x30 mid. When I double click on the exe file it says, "this is not a valid win32 application". Meanwhile, my machine won't wake up to sound an alarm. Also, when I set the alarm and turn my machine off it won't turn back on. I have to do a soft reset. How can I install this utility so it works?
The alarm I chose initially was Wolf. When I experienced all these probs I uninstalled it and installed Stop Time. Same probs.
Copy the .exe file to your device and tap on it. It would probably be a good idea to install it somewhere in main memory.

Thanks! I'll try it again. It sucks not having an alarm. Appreciate your help don't panic.
Wait a sec, that's where I downloaded it from. From my experience, if you have an .exe file you just double click it on the desktop and the installation automatically begins. I don't think I should have to copy it to my ax. Am I wrong?

Depends on whether the EXE is an installer or the actual app. The size is (usually) a dead give away... install packages will approach 1 meg in size, while a PPC utility app will be likely 10 or 20 K in size.
The file is 508kb. Does that mean it should install itself when I click on the icon on my desktop? Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get an alarm to work other than this darn tweak?
thanks,
steve
The copy I downloaded months ago is 509kb and should be run on the desktop.
Try this instead.
Download the attached file to your desktop.
Rename it on the desktop from .ZIP to .CAB and then copy it to your Axim.
Then find it on the Axim with File Explorer and click on it.
It will install from the Axim.
GJW, I installed it w/your instructions successfully. My built in alarm works great. It wakes the ax up from the off position and sounds.
Unfortunately Stop Time doesn't work right. It wakes the Ax up but no sound comes out. Then it freezes the Ax and I have to do a soft reset. It's too bad, b/c this looks like a good prog. I know there's one called Wolf also, but I want to know of any other free alternatives. There was a great one for Palm called Big Clock.

I like AlarMe by Eppen software.
It ain't free but so far it's the only one I've found that uses the entire screen as its "snooze" button.
Very handy for early mornings when one is not quite awake yet.
There service is also excellent.
They helped me troubleshoot a problem and even sent me a number of test versions when the problem turned out to be Toshiba's.
