Wisbar Advanced a little slow in response ?

When I click on the Start Menu, it takes a while to call up the menu. Is this due to my machine or the software itself ?

Anyone faces the same problem ?

Thanks.

Do you have it set to cache icons for the start menu? If it has to load all info each time you open it it will be slow.

Yes. I've clicked the "Cache program icons on startup".

Are you refering to the Cascaded Start menu and running WisBar together with Spb PocketPlus? I run both, and since the Cascaded Start menu is so slow I went back to the Built-in Start menu.

Yes, I referring to the Cacaded Start Menu... but that's what I want... Cascading. One reason why I bought Wisbar Advanced.

So, it's supposed to be slow ?

Not at all. It may actually slow down WisBar's cascading menu. That's why I asked. Anyway, with PocketPlus you would hardly ever need the Start menu. For those rare cases when it is needed WisBar can be configured to use the Built-in menu.

Or, instead of PocketPlus, there are several other options, like iLauncher from www.sbsh.net (okay Amit, where's 2.1 anyway :) )

I have no trouble with menu response. It is usually slow the first time after a soft reset. As was stated earlier make sure that "Cache Program Icons on Start" is checked and "Don't Cache Background Images" is not checked in the Start Menu Settings. Also I have it installed to BIS with no problems.

One thing which will slow the cascading menu is if you add or change the files in the paths that display within it. This causes the entire menu to be regenerated when it is next open, taking the same time as the first time you open it after a soft reset. I have deselected My Documents from the display which sped it up substancially. If you have large numbers of files in your My Documents folders and change them often this will really slow the menu down.

I have also set the standard menu to appear when I hold the menu button, and the cascading one for when I tap it.
