Hi!

I had installed the new PI version 6,11,0,352 on Tuesday and yesterday I wanted to transfer a contact to my phone via infrared and after the successful transfer I received a note saying "Software Error". I had to do a soft reset. Then later that afternoon, I changed a task and I had an error again. I left the X50 on my desk, went to a meeting (boah, those can be boring without it) and after two hours, I could just click on OK and the PDA worked just fine. Unfortunately, I have had some more errors since then...

I am pretty sure that this is related to the new PI release, because I have not installed anything else and before I upgraded everything was just perfectly fine.

The error message, which pops up on my screen says:

Software Error
Informant 2005 at 19:23:07
had an internal crash. Now closing program.

Unfortunately, I cannot close the program right away. I have to wait for a couple of minutes or I have to do a soft reset.

Does anyone have experienced the same?
Does anybody have a solution?*

*=I posted it on the WebIS forum but without any reply yet. But since here are the real experts, I posted it again. I hope, you do not mind.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

I use PI 2005R2.1 extensively and haven't encountered any problems on my X50v, firmwares A03 and A04 (not at the same time :) ).

WebIS just re-released the new version of PI to fix some problems. Latest build is 354. Not sure if this build addresses your problem but you may want to give it a try.

You may want to re-download the latest build as we had to reupdate our release yesterday specifically for two glaring issues that were missed in the final release.

The final build is 354.

Other than that, every known major bug that we are aware of was squashed in the last two releases.
