WiFi and banking

Tried to access my banking account, but there is some browser/cookie problem. I am using Netfront trial version. The bank is National City. Any help would be appreciated.

It probably requires Java and 128-bit encryption.

I wouldn't bank wirelessly anyhow

Wireless banking just exposes all your data for everyone else to hack at while it travels the airways to and from your router - or worse yet - the "free router" you're using at Starbucks or any other "free" hotspot.

Hi jetson,

No doubt the security issues raised are valid, but sometimes you just gotta do the banking, and it's gotta be done wirelessly.

Netfront has some Java support, which most banks want, but "out of the box," admits to running on a PPC, which will kick it out of most banks. So it has to be set up to answer that it is IE 6.0. (This is similar to the PIE hack, except you can do it as a setting in Netfront itself.)

A description of how to set this up can be found at (look for Gerard's post):

If you have the latest version of Tweaks2k2, there's a built-in tweak that will do this for you.

This gets me to my accounts at my banks, though there are some banks where not even this works. Good luck.

Marc
