Soft reset w/o removing from cradle??

Hi all,
It's a pain when I have to take my X30h out of the cradle to do a soft reset. Is there a tiny program out there whose only purpose is to allow me to do a soft reset from the Today screen or menus? Thanks!

Try http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/reset.shtml . Works great.

Question which kind of reset?

Hi, this looks like exactly what I need. Quick question first though.... the site just says that it is a reset program but it doesn't specify if it does a hard or soft reset. I'm assuming it's the former, but will you verify that for me before I d/l it? thanks!

Hmm Uh oh! Didn't work

Hmmm. When I tried to install, I was able to d/l and unzip, but when I clicked on the icon (on my laptop) to continue the setup process I got this message:
"C:\Documents and Settings\ecleader\Desktop\unzipped\reset\Reset.exe is not a valid Win32 app"

Ummm...any ideas? It's an X30high that I'm trying to install on.
Thanks,
~ecleader

ecleader,
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/vbgar...=view&id=53570 is a thread to Frenchy's PDA. In there is a different reset program you could try.

Just copy the executable to your device and run it there. There is no install program. Also, another free program is http://www.megaone.com/fengwei/ppc.htm#SoftReset_ , which is the one that I use. Wei has quite a number of free utilities on his site.

Okay, I know you're not gonna believe this...but I seem to have totally spaced about how to copy an executable to my device! Arrgh! I haven't done it in ages since I'm usually downloading programs with installers. A little friendly reminder please? *hiding my head in shame!*

open AS on your desktop. click on Explore. drag and drop the file to wherever you want it on the pda. go to that on your pda and click on it.

There are lots and lots of freeware that you can find to do soft-reset, hard-reset, power-off, screen-off, etc.

This soft-reset program from eITCenter is good.
This power-off program from eITCenter is good.
There is PowerCheck which loads as a Today plug-in and can display the soft-reset, power-off, screen-off button. In addition it can display battery power, RAM usage, CF/SD card usage.

Thank you!

*whew!* I knew you folks could help! Thanks a million! I got it all installed and it works like a charm! I wanted to install this one but after I unzipped the file that downloaded, I had to unzip another file...which my WinZip didn't recognize and it wanted me to open "Classic WinZip" (versus the wizard I use) to try and recognize it. When I did this, (after clicking through a few more processes,) all I could see was code and gobbledygook. Hmm. Oh well! I didn't have time for the headache, and I'm happy with the one I downloaded... Thanks again!
