A program with this feature?

Is there a program out there that would minimize an application to the bottom of the system tray?

I hope you guys understood what I just asked. :)

not sure about to the system tray, but WisVar Advanced will minimize apps and place an icon next to the start menu. You can search around and find it prety quickly...

There isn't any program that will minimize to the bottom bar like Windows does. Some programs such as Pocket Informant or WebIS mail have an option inside the program to minimize themselves. Wisbar Advanced 2 will put an icon on the top bar for programs running in the background.

You don't need any programs. By just clicking on the "X", the default is already minimize.

40th Floor's iPlay C/S does that but it's just a music player/recorder/alarm clock, it doesn't change things system wide.

Phillipe Majerus' powertools has a traylaunch app that's close to what you want. I don't know how many programs you can fit down there though.
