PocketPlus VS Wisbar VS iLauncher VS PocketBreeze VS etc

I am fairly new to the Pocket PC world, and I am getting a bit confused wit all the Today Screen plugin options!!! And I believe this is a matter that goes through a lot of people's minds... So to put it simply:

Spb Pocket Plus, Spb Diary, Wisbar Advance, Pocket Breeze, iLauncher, and others seem to have TONS of overlapping uses. I mean, how many Today plugins offer battery and memory indicators? What about shortcut icons on screen? Or a "X button Really closes" function. Don't forget PIE fulscreen mode. etc etc.

So could you more experienced people please help us noobs?

==>> SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE A COMPARATIVE TABLE of the available enhancements each Today plugin offers!!! Please make it up to date with the newly released versions if possible.

VERY IMPORTANT:: Also please tell us wich plugins are less cpu-hungry and wich ones can be installed outside main RAM, if you know it.

All in all please make a nice comparative easy to read table.

Please!?

Thanks!

Good list gjw. I have no idea if it's right, but it loks very thorough.

gamekill, I know the frustration when trying to choose something like this. It is very hard. I ended up trying all of the demos and really like Pocket Breeze, so that's what I ordered a few days ago. I also found a thread about PB and Wisbar2 working together, and it seems they do, but to me, most of the features really seem to overlap and I can't see why you'd want both of them. Besides the fact that WB2 has the cascading menu's, which is kinda cool. But I don't know that its worth it to me to pay the full software price just for that.

But in the few days I've been messing with PB, I've been very happy.

And if you haven't seen this, check this out.

Well i have Pocket Plus 2.5 and Wisbar 2 on at the same time. I think its perfect with these 2 thingssince they work with each other verry well. Wisbar lets you put really cool "skins" that blow the windows mobile "themes" away. I dont really like pocketbreeze. You should get both pocketplus and wisbar. If i could pick one, i couldnt do it!!! Just muy opinion.

Thank you VERY MUCH for the detailed list! Wow a lot of overlapping stuff indeed. What about Pocket Breeze? Is it the ONLY good software that enables appointments and tasks in a well-organized manner on the today screen? Is this it's main advantage?

Some people use SPB Diary, but I personally feel that PocketBreeze is much better. It is amazingly customizable and can be skinned to match your devices today page.

Some of the other advantages of PB are:

1.) Custom tab which you can use to add any today plugin to this tab (only one custom tab available now, but soon multiple tabs will be added)

2.) You can integrate ContactBreeze into a tab (additional cost but well worth it)

3.) You can integrate PocketRSS into a tab (Program not written by SBSH and will cost extra)

4.) Special events tab allows you to view time until birthdays and anniverseries of your contacts.

5.) The best support in the industry in my opinion.

6.) Almost weekly updates giving new features and quickly fixing any bugs found.

Good question

[QUOTE=gamekill]I am fairly new to the Pocket PC world, and I am getting a bit confused wit all the Today Screen plugin options!!! And I believe this is a matter that goes through a lot of people's minds...

Good question!! I was about to ask the same question myself. I have been completely confused by all the alternatives. I have been having enough trouble getting all my old programs working fully on my new Axim without trial downloading half a dozen plug-ins and learning how to use them in order to determine which which is best.

I see there still isn't a complete comparison, but thanks to those who provided advice (it looks like it is still a lot of personal preference involved.)
