Why does RealOne Player suck so badly ?

how can you have a media player for a PDA which doesnt allow you to switch the screen off ?

The best i can do is put it to full screen which blanks the screen and let the screen dim after the set limit. But im not sure if this is the same as switching your screen off.

Are there any other apps which play RM files ?

I'm not sure if you've tried this before, but in your brightness settings, if you make sure "Dim/light display using power button" is selected, you can dim your screen manually by holding down on your power button for a few seconds.

I think it sucks badly because its not compatible with the OS... last time I checked there wasn't a RealPlayer version for WM2003SE & it didn't work at all with an X50v. Is there a new version out?

They've stopped development on it I think. Not enough money to be made in it for them.

It works on my x50v on 2003.
The player messes up my screen when I play videos, but other than that, it works fine.

When i download RealOne yesterday, it was a BETA version. Dont know if you guys tried that last time, but you might want to check it out.
