Just to let you guys know that I haven't abandoned this.

I'm currently working on making the app more VGA-aware, as well as a few other enhancements.

It will be upgraded to run under the .NET compact framework 2. It will also use an upgraded SQL server engine. Those two upgrades should make it a bit faster.

I should hopefully have a new version for you by the weekend...

Wow! Look forward to it!

Have upgraded my X50v to WM2005 (and suffering...) - so will gladly test it :)

Thanks. I don't know how it behaves on WM5, so some feedback will be useful.

Your software works fine...more than I can say for the OS (WM2005)...currently requires at least one soft reset per day :( Gradually getting it "tuned"...

Cheers, Adrian. That's good to hear.

(that the viewer works okay under WM5, not that the OS is playing up...) :approve:

XMLTVViewer on Pocket PC comes back with -

"An unexpected error has occured. XMLTV Viewer cannot continue and must now close."

I'm trying to use XMLTV GUI 3.00.01 for Windows on the PC for originally creating the XML file and then trying to open that XML file on the Axim with XMLTVViewer.

its probably a bug in the grabber, which channels do you have selected, which grabbers and processors are you using. is there any furthe info in the error message (e.g any mention of invalid dates)

That's all the error message says, and then I'm kicked out.

On the PC, settings are -
Grabber - UK_RT Radiotimes 2.21
Quite a few channels selected ~ 25-30

Size of XML that gets created initially is about 6.5 MB, and when I open in Wordpad and save back as Unicode it becomes about 14 MB.

saving as unicode should no longer be nescesarry, simpy set the character set in the grabber to utf-8 or windows-1252. can you try with just a few channels at a time and see if any specific one makes it crash

Removed every channel and kept only Channel 4 (it should work, at least the screenshot on the first page shows Channel 4). Set the character set to Windows-1252. Tried copying both versions - unedited and then edited to remove encoding attribute from the XML tag and saving as unicode - none worked.

I'm thinking the same, it might be the case. I'll give 2.20 a shot now.

Just what we concluded. 2.20 works, 3.00.01 doesn't.

Cheers
