Ofcourse, it's better this way.

Including .NET CF can just make this too bloated, and can scare people when they're trying to download this nice little piece of software.

Works great on WM5 - still needed to install .NET CF V2 (which is not included as part of the operating system - a separate download from here )

Import is MUCH MUCH faster than before - about 1 minute compared to ~10 minutes before (importing via SD card some 3500 programs)

That's good to hear. I did a quick test and it was nearly 3 times faster than before. With the viewer installed on my SD card, and the xml in My Documents, it took just over a minute to import 5300 programmes.

BTW, how do you import from the SD card? The file open dialog will only seem to see files in the root or in My Documents. Or is this a change in WM2005...?

I first copied the XML file to the normal "My Documents" - let it import the file. I then closed the view, and changed the registry entry for "LastFile" using Resco Explorer...next time the view runs, it then checks the "LastFile"...

sorry - a cheat!

One change with WM5 regarding installing applications to SD or CF cards is that previously the path generated was a combination of the application name and providers name. Now with WM5, it always forces applications installed to CF or SD cards to be under "Program Files". And there is no need for cabinst to control where it installs cab files - the OS always asks where to install it on the device.

So, does it get installed to the SD Card\Program Files\Pocket XMLTV Viewer\ folder now then?

Grid View For XMLTV Viewer?

Does antone know if there will ever be a grid view option within XMLTV viewer?

At present I am using Rob Williams PocketTVGuide. Its reasonable but is missing some features. -such as scroll bars and reminders that link to the calendar also the graphics need some work as it doesn't seem to like my X50V screen.

Good points are the grid view and different colours for different types of programme. It also has the ability to load directly from bleb.org without the need for a pc activsync.

Is anyone else having problems with the RadioTimes Grabber / XMLTV combo?
XMLTV Viewer just gets stuck in the importing stage.

Just to let you know... The latest XMLTV grabber adds back a field which was removed from earlier versions, and which stopped the Viewer's import working.

The xml files grabbed with the latest version will now import correctly into the Viewer.

Just want to thank Ian again for this great app - I'm still using it almost 4 years later (now on an X51v with Windows Mobile 6.1). Was just checking today to see if there had been any updates since 1.2, but the link for the WM download seems to have disappeared - glad I saved the setup file! :)
