I noticed that I loss the clock when I run a program. when I go back to today screen, the clock comes back. any ideas as to how to fix this?
Hey, I'm back.
Don't know what's going on there. Just to remind you that any tweak in the program doesn't implement the related features. It only enable/disable them. The features are built-in to the OS.
great tool. thanks. On the clock, is just the regular ooption that i needed to enable. Now it is ok.

I installed this, and a couple of battery meters.
I am not sure this is a part of the Dogfood Reg Tweak, but I have meter bars that fluctuate across the top and bottom, and cannot figure out EXACTLY what they mean.
Is there a detailed description somewhere?
I believe I have mine set for battery on top and cpu on bottom, but they both seem to always be full lines all the way across the screen.
So, I'm not sure how to interpret this?
Think you should have a rehearsal on post#1 :approve:

Thanks for your commenct Zaniax. I am not sure what you mean by "rehearsal", but I already read most (if not all of this thread) and cannot find any details on the status bars. Exactly what is it doing, what does it mean?
My status bars are always fully across the screen. What does that mean (do I always have a fully charged battery and fully taxesd CPU)?
Once in a while the status bar at the top is broken up into two parts, but it happens when I am opening or closing something else, so I figured it was a refresh issue.
Ok uzziah0 - maybe I was a little TOO quick on my comment -sri- but on my X3i the upper bar shows the battery status and the lower bar shows the cpu load.
And it works very good - when left alone.
The display is somewhat erratic ( I cant find a better word for it right now ) when another utility is trying to use the same display locations - happened once to me.
Now, I haven't the slightest idea why your bars are on full scale permanently - except maybe you also got 'interference' from other utilities ?
But full scale all the time is surely a malfunction.
Maybe you should try to disengage the other status utility - just for a test ?
And remember to do a softreset after each 'test' - just in case you didn't knew that ...
Hmm. I just checked that X5 uses PXA250 CPU. This CPU monitor only works on PXA27x processors. The CPU monitor should not show on your device at all, unless the OS is reporting the wrong information. Can you check "start->settings->system->about" for the processor information? Can you also double check the RegTweak UI as well to verify what exactly is enabled?
Processor = PXA255
I had the Battery Level Indicator and CPU Usage Monitor on.
Just reenabled them both at max. Battery IS fully charged right now. I guess CPU monitoring is working for me. I'll watch battery tomorrow.
hey dogfood, i just wanted to tell you that your app is the #1 "must have" app i install on my PPC. thanks so much for it. i know it's quite a simple app, but sometimes it's the simple things that are used the most.
and btw, wifi/bluetooth signal strength would freaking pwn. (i think i am 1 release behind, so forgive me if these features may already be here) is there any way you could in the next release add the ability for bar placement? for example, say i want to put the battery bar on the top, or the bottom, or if i want to put it to the right of the cpu power etc. a way to easily manage this would be to just have an integer for each side of the screen (which brings up another point, maybe it would be possible to use the left and right sides of the screen too, as per a user option of course).
for example, top = integer 0-9, left = integer 0-9, right = integer 0-9, bottom = integer 0-9. then, use this as placement. for example, battery = top,2 and processor usage = top,1.
would result in a bar across the top of the screen, with the processor usage being represented as the left half of the bar, and the battery free bar on the right.
yet another integer would make it more configurable, one for percentage of bar used. this might incur some slightly painful menu coding, but basically you could specify the percentage of the entire bar that this specific monitor takes up. for example, you could have a bar that represents the current processor speed (as in how many mhz) take up 10% of the bar space, then the battery remaining take up the remaining 90%. this would be useful since some bars require more resolution than others.
in the end, each bar would be 3 integers, 1 for which bar it's going to be placed on (top, bottom, right, or left), 1 for its position (0-9, it just determines placement from top to bottom, right to left), and another for bar size percentage (0-100, all of the bar items with the same placement tag need to be added up to check if they are 100 before continuing. in order to make coding easier, you could just add it up and say if != 100 then return error to the user and tell them to fix it. if you want to do a little extra menu coding, you can add the integers for the bar up, then subtract 100 from it and add the remainder from that to a bars size -- but then you have to keep track of which one to add it to, which could get confusing. if not defined, then assume it's split into equal portions).
jeez what a crappy post, hah. sorry if i went into too much detail. certainly only my suggestion.
First of all, thanks for the high comments on my app. I am quite busy with my new job right now and don't have time to release new builds for a while. I've been thinking about supporting position customizations but yet have come up with a good idea. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll see how to present it nicely when I get the time to do more.
I have a suggestion.
add some features and put iit on Handango. Make some bucks from it. like two versions - the basic is for free , and the customizable for some $$$.
And to all - if you like this app and want to support dogfood and to see him developing it PayPal to dogfood.ca@gmail.com
