Change the Short Date Format
Applications may call upon the system to provide a 'short date format'. One such application is the Date/Time display in the taskbar, if set to show the date. To change the Short Date Format to show "Mon/2" (example):
HKLM\nls\overrides\SSDte = "ddd/d " (REG_SZ string, no quotes)
Note 1: For more information on date/time formatting strings, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/d...dateformats.asp
Note 2: All applications using the short date format will be affected by this change. Choose wisely
Choose wisely is correct, it does show up in other programs and sometimes the extra space is noticeable. Changing the size of the system font maper even to match the time might help.
Yes, I do. It doesn't matter whether I check monitor/Battery or not. It still shows the battery level line. I also have the Today items set to show the Date (and time) because I can't see them in DogFood's monitor. Can't find where to turn off displaying the icon for accessing the power/brighness/processor speed settings I mentioned. Don't know why it only shows when I'm not in Programs or System screens.

Larry
I'm pretty sure Frenchy started a thread and a howto about this, but I can't find it right now. I found that thread before I DL these tweaks, so it was already done. if i find it, i'll post back.
EDIT: I found the post you mention (http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showthread.php?t=131570) but it won't stick. When I click Done and close the registry editor, and open it again, the value is not there. A soft reset doesn't change that.

Suggestions?
Just going to post that I found it, too. urghhh! don't have an answer. Can you see what is in your startup menu, ie, what loads everytime. Something there is hijacking the registry entry. a program such as memmaid shows you not only the link, which you can see in the file folder, but what it points to. that may give you a clue.
I have the following in Windows\Startup:
Magic Button
BTTray.lnk
SplashV.lnk
odClientCEAutoLaunchSmart.exe
WirelessIcon.lnk
PWSLauncher.exe
Nothing that looks like a battery monitor, that I know of (which isn't much). :o)
Larry
No idea. I pretty much have the same items in my startup and all my tweaks are sticking just fine, although i haven't been using magic button for the last week. :headscrat
Hey, I got it to work! Don't know why Resco RegEdit decided to save my changes this time but not previous tries, but it does now. BTW, I had a false start by following the advice of someone who suggeted modifying TBOpt. That just blanks out the area where the clock/time from the tweak is placed, including the date/time. I added the key Frenchy suggested (ShowTitleBarClock) and that fixed the problem.

Cheers, Larry
Glad to hear it. Now you can be off doing useful things with your ax!!!! :yeah:
Yeah, as soon as I fix the truncated date problem, as descrbed by mad_scientist. I don't seem to have a SSDte key, whose format he suggests changing. <sigh>
I am on X51v, A12. I didnot do any tweaks yet but wondering why my start bar switches between battery and time. When I am in my today screen it always shows the battery meter. But when I run applications, any application, it is displaying time. Is it the default behaviour or my Ax is messed up?
