Is there any easy way for me to remove any other ROM programs besides Odessy; such as Bubble game and Solitaire?
If you can help me- Great!
The memory saving is in the RAM (WM2003). The OS for some reason makes a copy of the Odessy application in the storage RAM. My program saves that space by putting a 0 byte dummy copy in there. The games you mentioned are in the ROM which cannot be removed. You can overwrite those apps by putting a different RAM copy but that will not save you any RAM space. That will actually take more space.

u should release a new version with a tweak that will disable the battery latch behavior .
I just added a beta update in the first post of this thread. Give it a try if you are interested, by downloading "RegTweakBeta.zip", unzipping it, and copying the unzipped "RegTweak.cpl" to your device under "Windows" directory.
Please see the "New features/changes in the next release" section of the first post for information on what is added/modified.
Enjoy!

Just downloaded the first copy of the beta control panel. I am running on wm2003 on axim 3 XScale 400cpu qvga. The beta RegTweak.cpl installed fine. I have found no problems with settings so far I dialed the cpu monitoring in tighter at every .5 sec and it seems to be stable with the new settings running a battery test with apps to see if it changes battery life..
thanks and have great weekend :exe:

Dogfood, I tried the beta on my X51v and found that the update time setting actually changed the bar thickness, i.e. 0.5 seconds = 1 pixel thick, 1 second = 2 pixels and so on. The bar thickness setting does not seem to do anything anymore.
Also the settings to change the IE Cache, History and Cookies folders try to open a file dialog but then just freeze, meaning I have to go into the memory control panel and kill Regtweak. This also changed my folders to \SD Card\profiles\ for each of the settings. I tried this both with and without the filedialogchanger files with the same result.

First of all, thanks for testing out my software and providing the error report. :approve:

I just tried it out on mine and it works fine. Did you have the latest build of the whole software before you put on the beta? Or did you have an earlier build? If you look at the file "\Windows\PWSService.dll", the modified date should be Feb. 28, 2006.
Do anyone else have this problem?

I'll try to look into it. But since I don't have WM5 device, it could be hard. Again, if someone else have this issue, please let me know.
Did you manually set, or use other tool to set the IE folders to your SD Card before? To start with, it reads the current location and select it in the folder dialog. It may take a while to open up the dialog if you have a lots of files.

Admittedly I have set the IE cache folders to a place other than the default, I have my own folder structure for caches on my CF card. I don't see how that would cause the problem though. It persists even after completely clearing the cache.
As far as I know I have the latest version... Just checked the file version you listed and it is correct, for bonus points the time of modification is 13:07:18 on 28/02/06. ;) I just re-downloaded the original package and the cab file for wm5 is the same size as the file I installed from last.
After I copied the file over I did do a soft reset so it used the used the new file, if necessary.
I don't want to cause you problems, I love the program as is and don't want to make you work on it just for me. I know just how much work is involved in this kind of thing, especially as you have no way to test it easily. Tell you what, call me a nutcase and we'll both pretend I was never here :D
Thanks for writing this great piece of software, it really is the best.
I cannot see the date etc. It appears to behind the "today" screen as I can see some green and orange at the very top of the screen. I did a soft reset. I am using WM5 on a X51v. What did I do wrong?

The date is where the clock normally is on the right side of the title bar. The green line is the battery level and orange is free memory level. You can change the color in "Settings->System->Registry Tweak".
Hope this helps.

I attached a file here. Can you try it out and see if it addresses this problem? I'll have to look at the "folder selection dialog" problem separately.
Instruction:
On the device, disable "system monitoring" from the "Reg Tweak" tool.
Download the attached zip file, unzip it, and overwrite the file in the "\Windows" folder on the device.
Enable "system monitoring" again from the "Reg Tweak" tool.
