This may be a REALLY stupid question, but, is it necessary to have the Macaffe anti virus software that Dell offers with the axim x50v?

do a serach on the forums and you'll find a great deal of discussions about this....personally....and others will tell you the same...there is no need for AV on a ppc as we speak....however..no one knows what the future holds...so its up to you man...as it stands, i have airscanner AV running on my pda...but i'm just one of those ppl that like to be prepared for when it does happen..and trust me..it will happen....

It is not neccessary at all at this time. There are only two known virus for pocket pc right now. Also, both are REALLY easy to remove.
