After installing the program that came from the Dell CD, I can see on the "about" screen that says it's the "unregistered version"...
Is the key located somewhere in the package???
FYI: this is for the x50v
Thanks.

I know!! He's starting to be more, and more interested with my toys! :D
In fact, I gave him the Maestro to "play" around, and he loves it...
He's quite good with Lego Starwars for Xbox too... :approve:

I installed that upgrade and when I read this post went to see what mine said and it said that it was now expired and that I couldn't use it for .jpg's or .gif's until i register it. I posted on Resco's forum to see why it was doing this but so far there hasn't been a response. I guess I will email them next. I also tried to reinstall the Dell OEM upgrade from the Resco site and it won't let me do that either. The installer won't find the pda even though it was attached and syncing fine.

Why don't you just grab the cab files and install that...
It should be under program files/activesynch/resco or something. That's what I'm been doing since I couldn't synch my x50v because of faulty craddle.
Hope that helps.

I found out that the OEM upgrade for Dell on the resco website installs ok on top of the version that came with the x50v but it will time out and then you either go back to the original one or buy the upgrade for 40% off. Not a bad price but I am not sure I use it often enough to warrant the purchase. Just wanted you to know.

That's funny! I didnt actually try it after it said it wouldn't work, just took its word for it. but it does indeed seem to still work. I guess if you wanted to get rid of the nag screen you could remove the OEM upgrade and re-install the original one from the cd.
Doesn't the original one from CD not run and ask you for registration after the "trial" expires?
The upgrade was to get thru to the program without having to "register".
If you go back to install the CD version, wouldn't it ask u to register again after a while?
The one on the CD does not, the "upgrade" on the website will give you a nag scree after a while. But the program still works fine.

my point is... if u dun "upgrade" the program expires and won't run (if i remember correctly)... so we have to upgrade... but we get a nag screen after upgrade... is there anything we can do about the nag screen? or are we stuck with it?
