Uses For Voice Command

Hi,
I was wondering what you use microsoft voice command(or any other software) for. I use mine to look up contacts while driving and to turn off the pda using the freeware shutdown

well you can actually do a lot with it. you can make a shortcut to any program/forder in the programs section and just say "open <program name>" and that operation will be executed. depending on the shortcuts you have there your range of voice commands will grow. Good thing about voice command is that you don't have to pre-record any voice tags.

yes.. and i do like the anouncments where it reads your calendar to you... and there is something very cool (?) about asking it what your next appointment of the day is.. it's just that on my mda it's a killer app and on the axim it would just be a novelty

I used to use it on my T-Mobile PocketPC, but won't use it on my Axim. It was good when there was a phone involved, now it is just a space hog.

well if you disable it from settings, then it doesn't take up any RAM. and space is not a big issue if you install it to SD.

akheron,

1) How in god's name do you disable it from settings.
2) Will it work on an SD? WTF?

I don't think thats gonna happen anytime soon. it'll be too pricey if they include that. try dragon naturally speaking if you want speech-text.

I currently have Rudeo Control installed on my PPC and I use it to control WMP on my computer through wifi. It would be cool if I could use MS Voice Command to play songs through Rudeo. ie. Say the name of a song into my PPC and have that song play on my computer, which is hooked up to my stereo. This might be a bit of a stretch but would be incredibly cool if it worked. Any ideas?
