There's a work-around for this problem without having to go to "Full VGA" (as SE_VGA and OzVGA do). But this requires adding a little file next to each specific executable.
ForceHiRes has the same effect, without having to add the famous file time and again (10k each time), all done from a System Control Panel (with a simple .cpl file placed in \Windows). You only need to add to the list the executable that you want to force to hi-res mode: simple, quick & effective. Note: if you don't use File Dialog Changer, you will need to download the gsGetFile.dll from the author's website and copy it to the \Windows directory on your PocketPC. Version 1.60 is for WM5.0 devices while others should use version 1.51
Looks like they've updated to Force Hi-resolution tool V1.65.

Yes, not sure if it will work in the Axim. I haven't tried it thats why I have in my description on the first post:
"BatteryStatus is a freeware today-plugin which shows the remaining load of the main battery for XDA Neo (HTC Prophet - Windows Mobile 5). It is also reported to work with MDA Vario (HTC Wizard). I'm not sure if theis works with the Axim, but since the X51 series is designed by HTC, it may."

I don't believe so. The only device I know of that allows you to do this is Sling Player Mobile which is a commercial product.

On a separate topic, QMAIL has been updated on the list to v2.9.29

Any reason other popular free ebook readers than eReader are not listed? Mobipocket is now owned by Amazon.com and has a link at Amazon - believe mobipocket ebooks will be available for purchase directly from Amazon in the future. Mobipocket & eReader are my favorite.

Mobipocket - Full version is free & has RSS. Working on audio. I believe Creater is free too.
http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/default.asp

Microsoft Reader - best library, but no screen tap except for tiny arrow.
http://www.microsoft.com/reader/downloads/ppc.asp

Adobe Reader - personally, my least favorite because it is harder to read.

Thanx for the info on freeware.

I posted a reply to this yesterday but for some reason my post is gone, something must be wrong with Aximsite.com as I had trouble accessing it this morning.

Actually all the programs you listed are on the list but they are just not in one place. I used the category titles from pocketfreeware.com as a guide for the list so unfortunately, some similar type programs are scattered throughout the list.
