If you had $50 to spend on programs...
What would you buy?
I have $50 in gift card to spend at handango (from the lexus promo) but dont know what to get. Im open for suggestions about must-have programs. Currenty I have none, only what came with the Axim.

I like:

* Journal Bar
* Resco Pic Viewer
* Resco Explorer
* Flex Wallet
* Pocket Facelift
* calligrapher
* Word Stalk
* Marble Worlds (a game that will drive you nutz, but is addictive)
* PDAwin - use your axim as a universal remote control

The best thing tho is figger out what you need or want to do with your Axim and then dig around for sw that will do that. Have fun with it!

PS...if you really can't figger out what you would like, I'd be glad to take that gift cert off yer hands!

Hmm...is EverQuest an option? :-)

If I had 50 bucks, I'd get a year of Thunderhawk, but not sure if you can get it from Handango.

These are the only programs I've actually paid for so far (and don't regreat paying for I might add):

Pocket Informant
Battery Pack
PocketMusic (because I actually use WMA instead of MP3s...PocketMusic plays both).

definatly get resco file explorer, it will make usign the axim much much more user friendly, if I had ot use the crappy explorer that came with pocket pc's I don't think I'd even use it anymore.

After that I'd get Pocket Facelift, its fun and makes the PPC more user friendly too, lets you customize everything.

If you have anything left over you sould get a game or somethign fun liek PocketMusic.

I use Total Commander, and while it doesn't have the polish of Resco File Explorer, there's another thing it doesn't have that actually makes it better than Resco IMHO....NO PRICE TAG!!

I would recommend Pocket Backup Plus. You can back up your PPC and not worry about hard resets and it somes with a program called Pocket Mon that moniters battery usage and storage space, and it also comes with a program called Space Detective. Space Detective will tell you how much storage space you have used, how much is free, has a file explorer type program that also tells you how much space each folder takes up.

Thanks for all the great ideas fellas. I will look into each and every one and see if its suit me.
Another question just to show what a noob I am, I noticed some screen captures that people made and the start bar looks like in windows XP. now I know its a skin but what program do I need to skin it with and where can I get it and the skin?
Thanks.

There are a few programs for skinning the bars. There is Pocket Facelift, which will skin all aspects of your today screen (cascading menu, background, buttons, and top and bottom bars), and there is also IC Bar and Wisbar.

Any recommendations as to which one is better? All I basically want is that my bars will have XP look to it. Also, where can I find the XP skin?
