VPN for work email
Axim and wifi newbie so thanks for the patience in advance.
I'm in the process of evaluating an Axim. I'm thrilled with the apps, but my main concern is being able to access my work email remotely through wifi. Not just read, but send as well.
Currently, with my laptop I dial into my ISP (dial up...I know I know I know...), launch the corporate VPN app (Nortel Contivity) and then launch Outlook to be able to send/receive email. I'm not a techie, but I know we're not on a exchange server. I have noticed that if I try and use Outlook via a Pop3 method (no VPN active) then I can receive email, but not send.
Thus, with an Axim (or any ppc for that matter) does it work the same? I have seen a few posts that indicate Checkpoint has VPN software (I'm checking with our network guys to see if that will play nicely), but are there any other good VPN apps out there and does anyone know if Nortel has their own? Looking for any and all ideas....
Thanks.
