RE: Logologin

I'm not sure if logologin caused a problem with my Sprite backup app, but today I was unable to do a backup from my ipaq to my PC, so I removed logologin from my ipaq. In doing so, I lost the built-in ipaq password program completely. It's no longer there on my settings screen and I'm not sure how to restore it.

To solve the Sprite problem, I removed the app completely from both my ipaq and my desktop and reinstalled. Now Sprite runs perfectly.

When I'm feeling brave <g> I may reinstall logologin to see if that caused the problem with Sprite, but for now I can l live without logologin.

However, if anyone has a clue about how to restore the Ipaq password app, let me know.

Hmmm, I thought the password app was in ROM, in which case I don't know how logologon could have deleted it. You might try reinstalling logologon and set your ppc to not use a password before deleting it again. You may have just deleted the login information, which would have been in RAM, since it's user definable.

There should be a way of putting the icon back in the settings screen. Since the password app is a part of ROM there is really no way of getting rid of it. Just the icon.

Sebring and Ted...

Big GOLD stars for you two! Problem solved. Thank you!

-- I reinstalled logologin (when I did so, had an error message saying a 3rd party password program was found, did I want to proceed? I said yes, and reinstalled).

-- I did NOT activate logologin.

-- Removed logologin using the standard remove app, then used remover to clean up anything left behind.

-- soft reset

-- voila! the Ipaq password icon is back on the settings screen.

-- did another backup with Sprite. Worked perfectly.

Thanks for the help!!!

I think this thread should be made sticky. MANY great apps that I have downloaded and love. Great work everyone.

I have one to suggest as well: FreePong by IntelliArt.

When you install the program,it will ask you "Install the program to the default application directory". Click no and a window will pop up asking you where to save it. You can even install onto iPAQ File Store if you don't want to lose the program.
