Great news, will frontpage this after some testing!!!! (Yeah, it was worth supporting you by purchasing two of your products - the PPC and the Symbian S60v3 version.)

(BTW, please also fix the Symbian bugs, most importantly, the WMA streaming one...)

EDIT: now I see it's just an annoucement and it will only be released MUCH later...

I feel that in the past few months having a conversation with Corecodec has been like sending a letter in the mail and getting a banner ad as a reply. Everything is huge, broad, sweeping, and I miss the days of this past summer where 1.1.1 came out about a week after 1.1 did.
While I think they should get the WinMo (and, preferably, the Symbian - nothing can beat the Nokia N95, multimedia- and portability-wise) versions out / bugs fixed first, I certainly welcome the iPhone version because it might mean, financially, a VERY strong support for CorePlayer, which might guarantee they'll also be able to hire more programmers to work on the non-iPhone (read: less lucrative) platforms.

Of course, if they don't need to abandon these two OS'es just because of iPhone development, I too welcome this. But, please, WinMo and Symbian first

My sentiments exactly. I want them to succeed in their other endeavours, but I don't want to feel left behind for too long either. Especially not with bugs.

Pocket Player's nice as far as interface goes, and the sound quality is great... but you do pay for it in terms of processing power, and lack of .mp4 support, along with no AVC/h.264 support. I've got both purchased, however, so I can (and have) used both.

At the moment, with the implementation of AVRCP into 1.1.1, I'm using CorePlayer almost exclusively, despite the less-intuitive approach to the music/file management it has compared to the new PocketPlayer 3.5. However, as soon as 1.2 shows up... well, they're going to both get tested again. CorePlayer 1.1's efficiency has meant longer battery life on the Axim, which has meant it has taken over most of the media duties on my system for now.

I completely agree -- Coreplayer is by far the best player on the Axim in terms of batt life. But I've since moved to a TyTN and the battery life for all mp3 players is about equal to me.

I like Coreplayer. Bought it even though I had other players already installed right after it was released. I mostly use CP for video though. The one complaint I have about CP is that the customers have to wait a long long time for the upgrades and bug fixes. I used to love how TCPMP would release frequent updates, even though it was completely free.

Get on the iphone bandwagon. A player like coreplayer would be great on an iphone or any other mobile device.

I already have a N95 for multimedia and I don't think I'll use anything else - it's the perfect music player (A2DP quality - as opposed to WM -, lighweight etc) - no iPhone for me

Sure it is - I'm just afraid of the fact that they won't have time to bugfix / improve the WinMo / Symbian versions heavily requirigin bugfixes / improvements if they embark on developing for another OS.

(BTW, a quick question: does anyone have access to 40th Floor - Software | iPlay Pocket PC Audio Player**|***mp3*aac*mp4*m4a*ogg*flac*wma*wav***|* and could send me the latest trial version of iPlay so that I can test it for the Multimedia Bible? The developer seems to refuse to answer my e-mails (I've even offered him I'd purchase his player so that I can review it - no begging for freebies, that is) and I can't access his Web page - the majority of the world is banned from there.)

2original poster: if you liked MortPlayer you should also try GSPlayer. It's also a freeware, actually MortPlayer was based on its source code. While MortPlayer has tons of great features and is a fantastic application, I found myself switching back to GS Player because it seems to produce better sound, especially when using an equalizer. (Which is strange, since MortPlayer is supposed to use GSPlayer's sound decoder; I assume it has to do with amplification level pre-built in each program, since the fresh install of MortPlayer (no equalizer) makes a louder playback while GSPlayer plays the same file at same volume level at lower output yet with more dynamic range - at least that's how it sounds to me, YMMV).

Same thing for me, i would choose a wm device every time. There is so much more freedom in software choices, and u really can do just as much as an iphone can. TCPMP with youtube plugin=youtube on iphone, google maps, netfront, opera=safari. Etc....

On a side note for everyone... for all platforms we will also have integration for webkit HTML5 as a plug-in. This includes the iPhone, Symbian and CE (when someone does a worthy port of it that is).... oh and don't forget Windows and OS X.

OT.... but I just posted the first of 3 video demos of CorePlayer Mobile running on the iPhone... See: CorePlayer Mobile for the iPhone - Audio Demo #1

Its the first to bring a combo of audio support for MP3, MP2, AAC, WMA, H.263, WAV, OGG, Speex, WAVPACK, FLAC, MPC, TTA, AMR, ADPCM, ALaw, MuLaw, Midi, G.726, G.729, G.711, GSM 06.10

and that not even video ;-)
