Hi.
I used to use a palm, which I had gotten for my wife about 4 years ago. On that palm I remember installing a software that was very similar to AvantGo however it also included map, subway locations, restaurants, all points of interests, you would select by theme, by location, or say "What's nearby", it used to work for Manhattan very well.
Those who live in NYC might remember there were even "beam points" to synch up the information for that location, add to database, or if a certain store had this beam, it would synch up and send the menu for the next week, specials, or if that was a fashion store, it would send out their information to the palm.
I am trying to remember that.
Oh, most importantly it was %100 free.
I purchased Mapopolis and happily used it for long time for my $100 full maps, however their points of interest are out of date, for example last week it told me there was a McDonalds about 4 blocks up, I ended up walking but only finding a private house!!
