Yes I did; I have copied 3 files--celib.dll, cedialogs.dll, cedialogsx.dll from the pocket pc subfolder of the bunch. Are they compatible w/ WM5?

I'm going to help you set it up like I have it, installed to \Built-in Storage

Step 1: Create a folder on your computer called unix-root

Step 2: Download http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/wince/t...-wce300.tar.gz and unzip

Step 3: Copy the entire texmf directory into your unix-root directory

Step 4: Download http://www.rainer-keuchel.de/wince/texmf-common.tar.gz and unzip

Step 5: Copy the home and texmf directories into unix-root, saying yes to the warning about merging existing directories (in windows that is)

Step 6: Give up because this is too many steps
I'm not to keen on editing the registry. Can I just do this last six steps? Will it work? I have an axim x30. Hope this thread is still alive.

If you do as the thread starter wrote nothing terrible will happen - Besides - If your brain somehow gets controlled by aliens and you start to delete all other keys in the registry - The worst thing that'll happen is that you'll have to hard reset.

The registry keys are important. The other ports from the same creator demands environment variables.

Thanks alot, thread starter, I don't use latex except for a couple of school projects, but you opened my eyes to Rainer Keuchel's ports. They are excellent (and works on wm5 - I've got a X51V and has so far gotten every port I've tested to work. Apache server with perl(cgi) is wonderful on a tiny computer. ).

You were right...I did it...with some encouragment from the thread starter and it works perfectly on an Axim X30. I've already written a paper on my comute. It great!!

The only problem I have found, is that TexEd doesn't do word-wrap, and sometimes I forget to hit return, so I end up with a huge line, which makes reading back what you have written, a bit difficult. Does anybody know if there a way to make TexEd do word wrap?

Overall a very cool software.

Camp.

How compile LaTex
Hi, I have followed the steps to install LaTex in my pocket, but when I compile appear this message: "This is TeX, Version 3,14159 (Web2c 7.3.3.1) I can't find the format file 'latex.fmt'".

The file referred is found in the folder \unix-root\texmf\fmt, but LaTex don't get to see.

How can I solve this problem?

You need to changed the file \unix-root\cfg\texmf.cfg to point to the directory you've installed everything to.

Just open it up in a text editor.

Wince is ppc2000, and i find that apps for wince work fine on my axim x50 wm2003se. I have more issues with ppc2002 (wm2002) apps than i do wince (ppc2000)

Thank you very much for putting all the work to make this popular software work on ppc. A big THANK YOU!!!!

I am trying to make it work on WM5 using x51v. I did the cfg change to put all the files into the program files folder. It works. However, if there is a error in the tex file code, the program hungs and only soft reset can solve the program. Is there a fix to this?

I've never seen that happen with any errors for me... double check you have all the paths edited in the cfg file and that you've set up the registry keys properly.

Oh one thing I think was mentioned before, don't put a space in the filename or bad things happen.

Is there anyway to configure TeXEd? Or a config file, one can alter to add some extra functions. I don't seem to have any recorded Text macros, and I can't save any I create. I also would like to see, if I can get TexEd to do word-wrap. sorry to keep nagging about this, but I'm just very excited to be able to use LaTeX on my Ax. thanks to this thread, I have doubled the amount of work I get done in a week.
