? Issue with Battery Bar and SD cards
I love Battery Bar and this may be nothing to do with it but ...

After I got BB for my Axim, I got a 256 Mb SD card. I started to install a bunch of music onto it when something happened and Explorer showed hundreds - well lots - of little folder icons on the SD card and BB suddenly showed the SD card as full. At the time this happened the card had about 190 MB left on it. After a soft reset the Axim required a format of the SD card. Thereafter the card would load some stuff but then an error message popped up and the card would not accept any more stuff on it.

Obviously I thought this was a probelm SD card and sent it back.

However the same thing happened with the replacement.

So I did a hard reset and loaded the music onto the SD card BEFORE loading Battery Bar onto the Axim. Now everything is fine - for the moment.

I hate to say this but it does look as if Battery Bar has some sort of problem with SD cards added after BB has been installed. I may be wrong but, as I say, no problems as yet when I install stuff onto the SD card before installing Battery Bar. I suppose the test will be if anything goes wrong when I try to add some more songs onto the SD card.

What do the experts among us think?

Yep - it is Battery Bar. I copied a bit of a film to the SD card and the same thing happened. Take of Battery Bar and all the music and stuff goes on fine.

Are you talking about the Battery Bar that's part of Battery Pack?
I haven't had any problems with that one.

Having used Battery Bar for quite a while with no problems I'm not convinced you're right that this is a general problem. Will you let us know if you encounter any problems now that Battery Bar has been uninstalled? And is your card a Sandisk by any chance?

I think the switcher bar is the problem. i have had a few errors en formats, always with switcher bar.

however, i do use battery bar all the time and I switched to icebar but yesterday i had to do a format again.

really don't know how this happens but I'am pretty sure i don't bought a broken card, it has something to do with software in my opinion, but witch is it????

I have re-installed Battery Bar because I like it so much - well its the combination of that and Journal Bar that looks so good - and I'm fairly sure that it is the problem because I can put anything on or off the SD card so long as BB isn't installed and it works fine. I'm no computer expert but methinks that something gets mucked up while BB tries to monitor the memory availability. Eitherway I've told Omegaone about it and us'll see what they say.

My new trick is to mirror the SD card stuff because the Axim thinks the programmes on it are installed. I don't know if that will work if it goes down again.
