IP Dashboard Network Monitor Now Available
"Manage your wireless network connection from your Today Screen. Includes
IP info, DHCP, Ping, graphs, meters, and more!

Hudson Mobile Technologies LLC, a provider of quality software
for networked devices, is pleased to announce the release of IP Dashboard,
the most intuitive network monitoring tool available for Pocket PC 2002 devices.
Axim users will be thrilled to know that IP Dashboard was entirely designed
and developed on a Dell Axim!

IP Dashboard is a Today Screen plugin that enables you to quickly and easily
monitor your wireless network connection and track your network usage.

Unlike other system and battery monitors, IP Dashboard is the first Today
Screen plugin designed for WiFi network users so that all major network information
and functionality is just one or two stylus taps away. This product is essential
for anyone who connects to WiFi networks regularly from their Pocket PC - you'll
soon be wondering how you got by without it!

Key features include:

  • Monitor WiFi or Ethernet connection status on Today Screen
  • Network activity icon shows inbound and outbound traffic
  • View and Edit current network settings, including IP address and DHCP configuration
  • Configurable meter to track bandwidth usage
  • Graphical display of current data rate
  • Release/Renew IP addresses obtained through DHCP
  • Ping function to test connectivity to other computers
  • Taskbar icon lets you watch network activity and throughput from within other
    applications

Having completed an extensive testing period involving dozens of users,
IP Dashboard is now available for download for a free, seven-day
trial. Users who enjoy IP Dashboard's simple interface and visibility
of key network information can register the product for $11.99. Registered
users are entitled to free product upgrades, and some exciting new
features are already planned for upcoming releases.

For more information and to download your trial version of IP Dashboard,
please visit our web site at www.hudsonmobile.com.

    Great Product
I was involved in the beta testing of this product and let me tell you it is well worth the money. I highly reccomend this product to anyone who uses wireless networking on their axim. It is a great product. It even monitors your sync connection! I give this product 5 stars!

How is paying money for a WiFi card free?

    Socket card $150
    IP Dashboard $12

BTW, this is so much more advanced than that socket app.

What are you talking about then? This thread is about IP Dashboard, not WiFi cards...

I did the beta on this too, and I think it is a solid product. Very handy. Their support is also prompt and and seems to be knowledgeable.

It also shows the status of my socket bluetooth card, which suprises me because they do not claim any support for bluetooth connections (in fact they asked if bluetooth support was a desired option during the beta feedback).

If you are intersested in monitoring your network connections, it is worth the $

I still dont see what all the fuss is about this product is nothing special and any wifi card worth anything comes with some kind of program with these same features, as far as the claim as more advance thats pure crap, lies, it has the same features as all the others I have be able to find d-link, linksys, sockey hell even dells true moble has a program with all these features. [/quote][/b]
You don't have a clue about this program. I have two different CF WiFi cards and neither keep track of how much data I have transfered between my Axim and the base stations. Without this knowlege, I can spend too much money at starbucks in the morning. This program keeps track of it and gives me an alarm to when I get near my limit.

more advanced haha sounds like a lot of product pumping to me.

My vote spen the 12 bucks on beer, you will get more injoyment

As I said, I could easily spend more than $12 on my wifi in a day if I wasn't careful... I've saved lots of money with this product. It also helps with my Cell phone connection because there too, I'm limited by the amount I data transfered.

As I said, you don't have a clue what this program does and how useful it is...

I have the Dell and the client app that comes with it has nothing on IP dashboard. This is one nicely made app that offers a lot above and beyond what my client app offered. my client app doesn't have ping, doesn't have a data xfer graph with warnings, doesn't have a today screen view to show me when I get an IP.

You're a nut if you don't see value in this tool

The software that came with my DCF - 660W gives almost all of the info that IP Dashboard does.

The DCF - 660W software can
    - scan for access points and connect to them.
    - Shows signal strenth and quality.
    - Shows data rate.
    - Can ping a address.
    - can be activated with one click by putting its icon in Program bar

Only that it does not give that IP dashboard does is the amount
of data that has been transferred and the time for which one has
    been connected.

IP Dashboard is not very useful for folks are like me who are using
Wi Fi over their home networks and have no intention of spending money at starbucks for surfing the internet.

In your case I would say its not needed. But if you ever decide to spend money on either a wifi connection or use your cell phone, this is the program for you.
