Nothing really special to report from CTIA Wireless 2004. I was able to hit all the booths I wanted to in the 1st and only day I was there. (Monday March 22, 2004)
The highlights of the show for me was not Axim/Ipaq related and I will not share much of that since this is not cellphonesite.com!
As the name CTIA (Cellular Telecommunications & Internet Association) indicates, there was a TON of wireless stuff to be seen.
- Motorola's MPx100 was a popular "Must See".
- Fashion in Motion. (Link)
- HP had a nice size booth with some great demos.
- Sandisk had a bunch to show off.
- I finally got to meet Dale Coffing in person. Nice guy. Plugged Aximsite in the demo for Windows Mobile too!
- Also learned of a few new vendors of PPC accessories.
The day went real fast and I may have missed a few booths, but I got to talk with some great companies the night before at Moble Focus. The event was 1st class all the way. They treated press well with a nice press room, complete with internet access and food.
There was a ton of buzz around the show about the upcoming release of a Windows Mobile upgrade. I also talked with a couple people about this new chip code named, "Bulvedre" and tried to talk HP into breaking out this rumored H6300. Of course, they would not... but did not deny its exsistance.
